In a first, the RTC in Siddipet, Telangana became the first fully cash-free place in India after the State government mandated the use of swiping machines on Sunday.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao distributed swiping machines among the ticket collectors during a program. On the occasion, the Minister claimed that Siddipet became the first town in India to completely adopt swiping machines for transactions and eliminated the use of hard cash.
He urged people to encourage cashless transactions and avail the facility of swiping machines.
