Heeding the petition filed last Friday by Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, regarding his passport, High Court Judge C V Nagarjun Reddy on Monday issued orders asking the city police authorities to return Malik his passport.
The petition, when it was first heard on April 16th, was postponed to the 19th as the judge felt he needed time to deliberate the issue. The closing of all cases and dropping of all charges against Shaoib on the 17th made the judge's decision-making easier, and he ordered for Shoaib's passport to be returned at once.
Malik is free to leave the country, once his much-awaited passport reaches his hands. He is expected to get it by Tuesday, if not by Monday evening.
