YSR Congress leader Sharmila's "Maro Praja Prasthanam" padayatra entered its second day on Friday.
After a night halt at Bhoomayyagaripalle after the first day of her padayatra on Thursday, Sharmila started her walkathon from the outskirts of Vempalli at about 9:30am on Friday.
Addressing a gathering at Vempalli, she alleged that the ongoing energy crisis in the state is due to state government's lack of foresight.
She stated that while all sections of the society were being affected due to the power crisis, it is the farmers who are badly hit. She claimed that the welfare of farmers was the top priority of her late father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Sharmila said people would be forced to face such problems in future if they continue to believe the Congress or the Telugu Desam Party.
Sharmila's padayatra passed through Rajiv Nagar Colony, Nandipalle, Thallapalle, Musal Reddygaripalle, Duggannagaripalle, Ammayyagaripalle and V Kothapalle. She also interacted with students in Nandipalle. (INN)
