"Will Do Anything For United AP"
Yerram Naidu, a senior TDP leader from the Seemandhra region, demanded that the UPA make a statement in Parliament about keeping Andhra Pradesh united.
Close on the heels of Seemandhra Congress leaders organising a conference to keep the state united, the Seemandhra TDP leaders organised a round-table conference in Guntur.
Yerram Naidu, a senior Telugu Desam leader from the Seemandhra region, on Wednesday demanded that the United Progressive Government (UPA) make a statement in Parliament about keeping the state united.
Addressing the round-table conference at Siddhartha Gardens, Yerram Naidu said that the round-table conference has unanimously passed a resolution opposing the division of the state.
Reiterating that the development of the state is possible only by keeping the state integrated, Yerram Naidu opined that the Centre must adopt the 6th recommendation of the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report and keep the state united.
Describing the demand for a division of the state as a conspiracy of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the Congress, Yerram Naidu said the TDP has already made its stand clear, and that there was no need to make any resolution on it.
He said Seemandhra leaders are "ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of a united Andhra Pradesh".
Yerram Naidu called upon all Seemandhra leaders to be united and launch an agitation for keeping the state integrated.
The round-table conference was aimed to chalk out the TDP's future course of action ovet the Telangana issue. Leaders from 14 districts attended the conference, including TDP Floor Leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Payyavula Kesav and Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. (INN)
