Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy today launched eCalcus, a free online classes application with video lectures for students from UKG to Intermediate grades.
The app aims to enable students to engage with their lessons better and help them enjoy online education. It has embedded animated video lectures that deal with tricky conceptual subject matter that is taught in both Hindi and English. The objective of the videos is to help students grasp difficult concepts easily. It also caters specifically to the needs of JEE and NEET aspirants.
It reportedly also includes practice study material related to mathematics and the science subjects. Currently, eCalculus has nearly 1,050 lecture videos and 19,600 questions in its database.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said, "eCalcus" is an android-based app that is available for download on the Google Playstore. Soon, it will also be available on iOS devices as well. Students can access the relevant courses for free by downloading the app and registering themselves on it."
The minister then praised the founder of the app Vani Kumari for coming up with an idea that would help millions of students get access to quality education besides helping them prepare for exams like the NEET and the JEE.
Kumari had earlier launched her Calculus Education Institute in 2017 with the vision of disseminating education in society, seeing its importance as a great social equaliser.
