The Rythu Sangam will organise a Rythu Poru Bata in all the districts across the state, from 1 to 8 August, to protest the failure of the government in addressing farmers' issues.
Talking to media persons, Rythu Sangam president Rama Krishna alleged that the state government has failed to provide subsidized seeds and fertilizers to farmers even after the kharif season has begun. They also said that farmers are being deprived of agricultural loans.
"Although the authorities are fully aware of the situation, they have not taken any measures to rescue the peasants," he said.
Claiming that the toll-free number for farmers, started by the government, is an eye-wash, he said that farmers in the state have been facing financial losses because of the state government's wrong policies.
He added that this is why farmers across the state will launch protests from 1 to 8 August. After the Rythu Poru Bata, on 9 August, a massive protest will be organised at the state Secretariat, he said. (INN)
