Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has issued instructions for the release of an amount of Rs 404.58 crores towards input subsidy to farmers whose crops were damaged due to different natural calamities from the 2009-2010 to the 2014-2015 financial year.
The Chief Minister has also issued instructions for the release of an amount of Rs 75.84 crores towards input subsidy to farmers whose crops were damaged due to hailstorms and heavy rains during 2009-2013.
Thus the total amount released is Rs 480.42 crores.
The release of this amount had been pending for a long time.
The payment of input subsidy will be done directly to the bank accounts of the farmers, and the payment will be made within 90 days from the date of release of funds.
A farmer will be entitled for input subsidy for only one disaster for an agriculture season. (INN)
