The Telugu Desam Party came down heavily on the state government, for increasing the registration fees in various departments in the state.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan on Friday, senior TDP leaders T Devendar Goud and P Chandrashekhar criticised the state government for increasing the financial burden on the people of the state by hiking the registration fees of Land, Society and Marriages.
They described the present government as "more ruthless than Aurangzeb's rule," and suggested that it mobilize revenues by increasing the royalty on tax in the mining sector instead of resorting to increase registration fees and putting common people through hardships.
They said that during the Telugu Desam Party's rule, the government's debt burden was only Rs. 57,000 crore, while today it is Rs. 1.60 lakh crore. (INN)
