In an announcement that could potentially end the
barrage of criticism the TRS government has been facing for "neglecting" the government employees in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today announced to the Telangana Assembly during the Budget session that a new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) report, containing a revised fitment rate, would be released within the next two or three days.
"Our government will release a revised PRC report that has been prepared keeping in mind the interests of the government employees of the state. With its implementation, our staff and officials will become the best-paid government employees in the country. Since the MLC elections are now over, and the election code of conduct is no longer in effect, we will implement the PRC soon. We remain a pro-employee regime, and are committed to the welfare of our employees," he claimed.
"We hope that the new fitment will leave our employees happy, and that they can be proud of being government employees in our state," KCR added.
The CM had recently hinted that an enhanced fitment of 29% would be given to the employees.
The announcement comes after the TRS government's
prolonged stand-off with the state's employees over the recommendations made by the state's PRC - especially the proposed wage hike. Employee union leaders have been demanding a 45% pay rise.
