Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday demanded an explanation from the Congress party on its proposed tie-up with the Praja Rajyam Party.
Talking to media persons, Janardhan Reddy said that the people of Telangana needed an explanation from the Congress as to why it was looking for a political alliance with the PRP which supported an integrated Andhra Pradesh.
The separate statehood spearhead also demanded that the Congress should makes its stand on the Telangana issue clear before it formalized any pact with the Praja Rajyam Party.
However, he said that the TDP had no objection if the Congress party wanted to put a stop to the activities of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy through this alliance.
"The Congress-PRP alliance should not obstruct the Telangana state formation at any cost," Janardhan Reddy said.
The T-TDPF convenor also demanded that the centre announce its decision on Telangana state formation before the budget session of the Parliament, and asked the Congress party not to test the patience of Telangana leaders.
