Hyderabad | 8th June 2024
Expressing deep shock at the demise of the media mogul, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that the passing away of Ramoji Rao was a big loss to the Telugu press, media and business sectors.

"Ramoji Rao is credited with enriching the integrity of Telugu journalism and showing a new direction to the media sector. He was a visionary who ran Eenadu as the number one news daily for more than five decades even during challenging times, and also laid a strong foundation for the TV industry by establishing ETV," the CM said in a condolence message.

Reddy also hailed Rao for bringing glory to Telugu at the national level, and added that he was a great person who gave utmost importance to values and credibility in any sector.

Recalling his meeting with Ramoji Rao at Ramoji Film City recently, the Chief Minister said that every interaction with the former was an experience.

He said that he prayed God that the departed soul may rest in peace, and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family members.

He added that the State government had decided to perform the last rites for the mortal remains of Rao with State honours, and directed Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to make the necessary arrangements in this regard.
