Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal has announced that repolling would be conducted at Polling Booth No. 108 in Bellamandi, Kadapa, on 12th May from 8am onwards. 900 people are expected to exercise their franchise tomorrow.
This repolling is the result of a technical glitch in the Electronic Voing Machine (EVM) that was used at the polling booth. The electorates had complained that their votes were polled to the wrong candidates.
Bhanwar Lal also stated that the demand for the conduction of repolling at more than a 100 booths in Kadapa, due to alleged rigging, would be addressed by the Election Commission of India.
Meanwhile, the gamblers of Kadapa have moved on from betting on cock fights and cricket matches, and are at present betting on the outcome of the Kadapa by-polls.
If reports are to be believed, crores of rupees have been laid upon the winner of the by-elections. Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of the YSR Congress Party seems to the favourite for the role of the winner, while Y S Vivekananda Reddy and M V Mysoora Reddy are equally favoured as the runners-up.
