Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Varla Ramaiah, on Monday, demanded a white paper on the lands allotted to private companies through the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Ramaiah also demanded that former APIIC chairman Ambati Rambabu reveal the money he had earned through the alleged deals between APIIC and private companies and also the share of YSR.
He also questioned the authority of suspended PCC Secretary Ambati Rambabu to comment on Chief Minister K Rosaiah, former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and others.
Pointing out that the APIIC has under its limits 1,21,655 hectares of land, of which 75,000 hectares was acquired from private land owners in Vijayawada.
The TDP leader charged that the land was purchased at throwaway prices by 'agents' of Ambati Rambabu, and then acquired by the APIIC at higher rates during the suspended PCC secretary's tenure.
When questioned about the involvement of Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana in APIIC's scams, he replied that only Ambati Rambabu can answer this question.
He further remarked that those who are demanding a CBI probe into the APIIC scam would be better off demanding an inquiry by a sitting judge of the High Court since the CBI is 'not as strict as earlier'.
