After the Congress, it is now the turn of its grand alliance partner the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to face the heat of rebel party leaders.
Supporters of party leader Lenkala Deepak Reddy staged a massive protest in front of the party headquarters in Jubilee Hills demanding the Khairatabad constituency ticket for him.
The protest was organized in the wake of the allotting of the seat to Congress party chief spokesperson Dasoju Shravan.
Enraged by the development, Reddy's supporters raised slogans against the party leadership. Bringing attention to the fact that Reddy had worked in the party for the last 20 years, his supporters said that it was unfair that their leader was not allocated the seat he sought.
One of the supporters of Reddy, Majnu, climbed an electric pylon and warned the party leaders that he would jump off if Reddy was not allotted the ticket. On hearing the news, the local police reached the spot and tried to reason with Majnu.
