Union Minister of State for Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi thanked Sonia Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee for the broad-guage lines sanctioned for Gudur in the Railway Budget.
Union Minister of State for Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi, and her husband and Congress party in-charge (Gudur assembly constituency) Panabaka Krishnaiah have expressed their heartfelt thanks to Sonia Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee for the sanction of new broad-gauge railway lines from Gudur to Dugarajapatnam in Nellore district, under socially-desirable rail connectivity projects. The lines will cost Rs. 227 crores, for a length of 42 kms.
The proposed broad-gauge lines will be laid from Gudur to Dugarajapatnam, and will pass through Chiliakuru, Kota and Vakadu Mandals of the Gudur assembly constituency.
Lakshmi and Krishnaiah, who belong to Gudur, have strived hard for this dream project. The railway lines are expected to help the region in meeting the requirements of the new pace of industrialization.
There are two SEZs (Chiliakuru and Kota mandals) declared in the region, with the extension of port, power and steel projects, and also textiles & leather manufacturing units, proposed to come up.
As the new railway lines also cover remote villages in the region, farmers, students, small businessmen, entrepreneurs running rice mills and Aqua farms will hugely benefit from the project.
