Rachabanda In Srikakulam

The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy announced a number of packages during Rachabanda at Srikakulam.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday announced many sops for the backward Srikakulam district in north Andhra Pradesh during the prestigious program `Rachabanda' which he had launched earlier on Monday.

After launching the program at Dolapeta in Rajam Mandal in the district, the Chief Minister enquired from the women present at the venue personally about their problems in availing government schemes like pensions, ration cards and other benefits.

When the women present there put forth their grievances, Kiran Kumar Reddy directed the officials to see that the benefits of government welfare schemes reached the doorsteps of the people in villages.

Later, addressing a gathering in Rajam mandal, the Chief Minister showered many sops on the district.

The government's largesse included a package of Rs. 35 crores for the construction of a District Collectorate complex in Srikakulam, and Rs. 39 crores to provide drinking water to Rajam mandal.

The Chief Minister also gave his nod to suggestions of converting the 60-bed hospital in Rajam to one with 100 beds. Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the health officials to send a proposal in this regard to the state government.

He also sanctioned Rs. 10 crores for upgrading roads in the district.

In the program, when a physically handicapped woman, Kondapalli Nagamanai, having an M A degree in Telugu Literature, asked the Chief Minister to provide her a job, Kiran Kumar Reddy assured her to provide a temporary job under outsourcing in District Rural Development Agency.

He called upon women members to utilize the government welfare schemes properly and come up in their lives.

The program is aimed to distribute ration cards, pensions, allot houses, sanction loans and provide other benefits under various welfare schemes for the poor, so that their long-pending grievances are resolved. Racha Banda will continue till February 12th, and Rs. 2,500 croress have been set aside for the program.
