The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) today announced a Property Tax Resolution (PTR) program to address property tax-related issues for residents within its jurisdiction.
This initiative is scheduled to take place at municipal circle offices from February 22 to 29, 2025, between 10 am and 1 pm.
GHMC Commissioner K Ilambarthi said that the PTR program was aimed at resolving various property tax concerns, including revision requests, amendments in tax assessments, registration of payments through bill collectors or Real-Time Gross Settlement, correction of online dues, resolution of court cases, and self-assessment issues related to the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS).
In addition to the PTR program, the Telangana government had previously introduced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme to assist property owners in clearing tax arrears.
As per the orders issued in February 2024, the OTS scheme offers a 90% waiver on accumulated interest for property tax arrears, provided taxpayers settle the principal amount along with the remaining 10% interest in a single payment. This scheme is applicable to both private and government properties within the GHMC and other urban local bodies across the State.
