Primary Education Is Govt. Priority: Minister
The state government is spending about Rs. 25,000 crore, including cash from the Rajiv Vidya Mission Funds, to provide primary education, says the minister.
Refuting allegations of discrimination against the state's primary education, Primary Education minister S Sailajanath said that the state government is spending about Rs. 25,000 crore, including cash from the Rajiv Vidya Mission Funds, to provide primary education.
Talking to media persons while participating in a program at Kanaku, the minister said that the government was according top priority to primary education in AP. He claimed that there was no dearth of funds in this regard.
Reacting to media reports that the government was discriminating against primary education and favouring secondary education, the minister said that both the departments were separated simply for administrative purposes, and that this should not be viewed as discrimination.
Reacting to a question on the delay in the distribution of textbooks to students, the minister said that government was making all efforts to ensure the distribution of textbooks to every student in the state, and attributed the delay to transportation problem. (INN)
