Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari today held a meeting with senior officials to discuss the upcoming visit of the President of India Droupadi Murmu to the city on November 21 and 22.
She directed officials to make proper arrangements as per the manual to ensure that the program was conducted in a befitting and successful manner.
The Chief Secretary instructed the relevant departments of both the State and the Central governments to make arrangements in line with the blue book. She emphasized that the Police department should ensure adequate security, proper traffic management and a comprehensive bandobust plan. She also requested the Fire department to provide sufficient firefighting equipment and fire tenders at all venues along with the requisite staff.
The Health department was directed to make the services of qualified doctors and ancillary staff available. The R&B department was instructed to set up the necessary barricades, make other necessary arrangements, and coordinate road repairs with the GHMC and the Police department.
The MA&UD department was tasked with ensuring cleanliness around the President's place of stay. And the Energy department was directed to guarantee uninterrupted power supply at all venues.
DGP Jitender, Special Chief Secretary (Home) Ravi Gupta, Special Chief Secretary (R&B) Vikas Raj, DG (Fire Services) Nagi Reddy, Principal Secretary B Venkatesham, Director Protocol Venkat Rao, CIPR Harish and other officials attended the meeting.
