President Invited To Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jathara
Ministers Seethakka, Konda Surekha and Adluri Lakshman Kumar called on the President at the Rashtrapati Nilayam and handed over the invitation letter.

The Telangana government today invited President Droupadi Murmu to attend the Medaram Maha Jathara, scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, in Mulugu district.
Ministers Seethakka, Konda Surekha and Adluri Lakshman Kumar called on the President at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollaram and formally handed over the invitation letter.
In keeping with the traditions of the Medaram Maha Jathara, the saree, bracelet and shawl of Goddess Sammakka were presented to the President. Subsequently, Seethakka explained the significance of the jathara, its unique place in tribal culture, the history of the struggle and sacrifices of goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, the faith and devotion of the people, the development works undertaken in Medaram, and the arrangements being made for the festival.
During the interaction, President Murmu listened with keen interest to the details of the jathara and said that she would definitely try to attend the grand festival.
She thanked the State government and the ministers for extending the invitation and affectionately presented new clothes to the ministers.
The President also appreciated the Telangana government's efforts in preserving and promoting tribal culture and traditions.
