Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today inaugurated the renovated shrine dedicated to the tribal goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, and various other departmental works, at Medaram in Mulugu district.
The Medaram temple is set to host the tribal festival Maha Jathara from January 28 to 31.
Upon his arrival at the temple premises with his family, Reddy was welcomed with lively tribal drum performances. Accompanied by his family members, Cabinet ministers and other elected representatives, the Chief Minister offered special prayers at the shrine, seeking the blessings of the goddesses.
As part of a traditional ritual, the CM was weighed against jaggery, which is symbolically offered as "gold" to the tribal deities during the Jathara.
He later participated in the unveiling of a new pylon at the temple.
The event witnessed the participation of several ministers, MLAs and other elected officials.
