Prashanth Reddy Attacks BJP For Anti-TRS Remarks

The Telangana minister today slammed BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for making allegations against CM K Chandrashekar Rao and his government.
Hyderabad | 28th December 2020
Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy today slammed BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for criticising the state government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

After inaugurating the Yellareddy MLA camp office and laying the foundation stone for the construction of double bedroom houses under the state government's free housing scheme in Yellareddy town of Kamareddy district, the minister held a meeting with the local leaders and party cadre of the town in the new office, where he lashed out at Bandi, claiming that the latter had no right to criticise the TRS government as, unlike the BJP, it was known for providing comprehensive welfare to the people of Telangana.

"Unlike many other states, Telangana has been implementing many welfare schemes by spending about Rs 45,000 crore every year on them. The Chief Minister has recently also released Rs 7,515 crore for the implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Even the Centre has appreciated the government's commitment to social welfare. The twelve BJP-ruled states have not introduced any programs that can be compared to any of the TRS government's welfare schemes. I challenge Bandi Sanjay, who is always making false accusations against the CM, to point out any BJP-ruled states with more comprehensive welfare schemes than ours," the minister said.

He also accused Bandi of hypocrisy in commenting on the TRS' welfare policies after the BJP-led Centre had introduced the three "anti-farmer" laws recently.

"Unlike the TRS, which has launched several programs to support the people, the BJP government in the Centre has introduced three anti-farmer laws, which have only created panic and confusion in the country's agrarian community. It has driven the farmers to protest in Delhi despite the the harsh winter. They have been agitating on the streets for nearly a month now. Instead of criticising other parties and governments, the BJP should focus on resolving the farmers' issues, and should repeal the three farm laws to protect the farmers' interests," Reddy said.

"And it's funny that the BJP leader is criticising the state government for having failed to keep its promises when his own party was involved in corruption and irregularities through various schemes and projects. Further, the party's leaders could not even manage to secure funds from the Centre for either the Hyderabad flood victims or for the development of roads and highways in the state," the minister added.

He urged Bandi and the other BJP leaders in the state to refrain from making baseless comments against the TRS government, saying that they were doing that only since the only way that they could survive was through propaganda against the TRS.
