Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in Hyderabad at 11am today in order to review the situation in the city with respect to the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in Hyderabad at the Begumpet Airport at 11am today, in order to review the situation in the city with respect to the twin blasts that took place in Dilsukhnagar on Thursday.
His first destination was the Omni Hospital, where he met the victims of the blasts who are currently under recovery, and assured them of all possible assistance.
He was then taken to the scene of crime amid tight security, where he was given a brief on the events leading up to the blast, and also about the status quo on the investigation.
Following this, he went to the Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet, and commisserated with more of those who were injured in the bomb blasts, and enumerated all the ways in which the government was trying to help the victims.
The PM's presence in the city was marked by a tightly-knit net of security that was spread out to a few metres around him. The traffic was rerouted so as to not clash with the Prime Minister's convoy, and no visitors were allowed in the hospitals while he was in there.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Governor E S L Narasimhan, and several other prominent leaders accompanied Mr. Manmohan Singh.
