Telugu film actor Pawan Kalyan, popularly called the 'Power Star', on Friday, received a jolt when a Chennai Court stayed the release of his latest cinematic offering 'Komaram Puli', slated to hit the screens on September 9.
The court issued these orders following a petition filed by a Chennai-based outdoor production unit—Ravi Prasad Unit.
Members of the unit sought a stay order from the court regarding the film's release, as they claimed that producer Singanamala Ramesh failed to clear bills amounting to the tune of Rs. 2 crore.
The unit alleged that Ramesh had given it a cheque for Rs. 2 crore but it had bounced.
According to legal experts, though the stay has been issued by a Chennai Court, the order is applicable in Andhra Pradesh as well.
Pawan Kalyan fans hope that since the movie is slated to be released on September 9, the stay order might be lifted as there is time to arrive at an amicable solution to the issue.
