BRS MLA K P Vivekananda Goud today said that only 14 farmers' loans had been waived off in his (Qutbullapur) Assembly constituency.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, he said that in his constituency 632 farmers had taken loans from a bank belonging to the Primary Agriculture Department of Bowrampet, and that of them only 14 had been given the loan waiver benefit so far.
"This is the sincerity of the Congress government towards the farmers of the State. I have never seen such a fraudulent government in the past. The Congress government is running on lies and fraud. No funds have been allocated for the Rythu Bharosa scheme," he claimed.
He said that CM Revanth Reddy had vowed to waive off the loans of all the eligible farmers by August 15 of this year but was nowhere close, and that the CM was deceiving the gods too.
He added that the BRS from the very beginning had been demanding an answer to the farm loan waiver issue from the State government, but that the State government had not allowed the BRS MLAs to even have a discussion in the Assembly on its Rythu Bharosa scheme.
He said that the CM, Deputy CM and Agriculture Minister did not give any reply during the budget discussion on the farm loan waiver issue.
"On the first day of the budget session itself, former CM K Chandrashekar Rao had said that this budget was nothing but trash. CM Revanth Reddy has lost the confidence of the people. His six guarantees have not been implemented in 100 days as promised. He tried to convince the people by swearing on the gods in the Lok Sabha elections on the issue of the farm loan waiver scheme. In the end, the CM cheated the gods too," he alleged.
