This makes it four cases in four days in Telangana.
Yesterday's case, the fifth, was an Islamic preacher from Indonesia. He was part of a 10-member group from Indonesia that came from Ramagundam to Hyderabad.
Rajender said that of the six infected persons, one was a foreigner and five were Indians.
"The virus is from foreign countries and being brought by travelers - Telangana and India are free from this dreaded virus," he said.
"We have made all necessary arrangements for screening people coming in at the airports, and to shift any persons suspected of the infection to hospitals like Gandhi or quarantine centres in Vikarabad and Dhulapally," he added. "Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has reviewed the situation with the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and the health wing. Our formeost aim is to check the spread of the virus.
