Telangana Minister for Labour Malla Reddy today disclosed that he had been offered the villain role in a Telugu film starring actor Pawan Kalyan but had gently rejected it.
Speaking at a program to release the teaser of a Telugu movie titled "Memu Famous" on Sunday, Reddy said that noted film director Harish Shankar had approached him and requested him for over one and a half hour to accept the offer.
In the casual speech, the minister also spoke about his rise to success. He said that he used to sell milk and flowers in his early days and rose to establishing colleges and hospitals. Finally, he had become a minister with the blessings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he said.
"People will not become famous by indulging in the consumption of liquor and smoking, aimlessly roaming, and running after girls. A person can succeed in life only when he works hard with dedication and discipline. There are no shortcuts to success," Reddy said.
