Film actors Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram on Wednesday called on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been on a hunger strike pressing for a farmer relief package since last Friday, and appealed to him to withdraw his fast considering his 'precarious' health condition.
Addressing media persons after enquiring about Naidu's health from doctors at NIMS, Jr NTR said the TDP leader has refused to withdraw his fast until the government comes out with a concrete assurance to announce a revised financial package for rain-hit farmers.
He revealed that Naidu was very weak, and that he was still refusing to get fluids administrated and undergo treatment. He also condemned what he called the anti-farmer stand of the state government.
Jr NTR stated that Naidu launched the fast only to help distressed farmers who were in fix due to state government's indifferent attitude over the announcement of meagre financial package.
Both Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram appealed to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to respond and make efforts towards solving the farmers' imbroglio, considering the serious nature of Mr Naidu's health.
