Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali on Monday informed that the State Government would soon conduct a survey of land across Telangana.
In an informal chat with media persons at the State Secretariat, Mahmood Ali said that the land survey would be the first of its kind in the country.
He said that the success of the Intensive Household Survey had proved that conducting gigantic surveys was not a difficult task.
He said that the TRS Government had sought Rs 600 crores from the Centre for the land survey. However, the Centre was yet to respond on the request.
Mahmood Ali said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was firm on conducting the survey at any cost.
He said that the survey would help the government in identifying the availability of land and its usage. The statistics would be helpful in schemes like distribution of land to the landless poor.
He said that the last survey on lands was conducted during the regime of the last Nizam. (INN)
