Former minister and Congress MLA JC Diwakar Reddy, on Thursday, warned Telangana Telugu Desam (TDP) leaders, who planned to stage a
dharna in front of AICC president Sonia Gandhi's residence in New Delhi on October 25th, that they would meet the same fate as their party president N Chandrababu, who was arrested during an agitation on the Babli issue in Nanded district in Maharashtra.
The TDP leaders from Telangana plan to stage the protest in front of Gandhi's residence to press for the introduction of a bill on separate Telangana in parliament.
Talking to media persons on assembly premises, the former minister said that those cheap tricks would not serve any purpose and termed them as unwarranted.
Reddy asked the TDP leaders to observe restraint and calm before submission of Justice Srikrishna Commission report on the situation in the State to the government. "These types of tricks will create law and order problem and vitiate the political atmosphere in the State," he said.
Reacting to Chandrababu Naidu not presenting his party's stance on the Telangana statehood issue before the Srikrishna Commission, Diwakar Reddy said that he would not interfere in the issue as it is his personal matter.
Responding to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao setting a deadline on announcement of separate Telangana state, he said that no one would bother about his threats and they would not serve any purpose.
