Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Friday gave his approval to the draft copy of the New State Industrial Policy 2010-15.
The policy will be formally announced after it gets an approval at a Cabinet meeting scheduled for June 18.
News of the Chief Minister giving his assent to the policy was revealed to mediapersons by Major Industries Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and Small Scale Industries Minister D K Aruna on Friday.
The ministers said that they had met Rosaiah earlier in the day and held discussions on the policy with him.
According to them, the officials concerned had spared no efforts to draft the policy, which they described as 'better' than such policies of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. They said that officials responsible for drafting the policy had visited these 4 states and studied the policies implemented there.
They also said that Rosaiah had directed officials to release pending funds of Rs. 100 crore due to power and insurance sectors from the earlier industrial policies.
Rosaiah had directed the officials to release the money in a time-bound manner, before the announcement of the new industrial policy, the ministers revealed.
