Hyderabad | 10th August 2016
CPI National Secretary K Narayana alleged that gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin, who was slain in a police encounter on August 9, was in a nexus with the Telangana government and its police force in an arrangement that offered mutual benefits.
Speaking to media in the CPI office at Ongole in the Prakasam district, Narayana alleged that Nayeem was killed since he had introduced KCR's family to a world of problems. He requested the court to launch a judicial probe into the alleged alliance between the police forces, TRS politicians and Nayeemuddin. He claimed that the nexus had benefited the politicians and the police officials.
Narayana clarified that neither he nor his party was however against killing Nayeem.
In another interview on the same day, referring to the rejection of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh by the Centre in the recent Parliamentary session, Narayana blamed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu for not taking up the issue seriously. He said that if the union ministers had pursued Special Status for the State as seriously as they did the GST bill, it would have been resolved by now.
Narayana expressed doubt over the CM's committment to AP and its people's aspirations.
