The manager of the Narayankhed TSRTC depot in Sangareddy district was found dead on a main road connecting to Sevalal Chowk, in the town on Tuesday morning.
He was wearing a track suit, and a pesticide container was lying beside his body.
Police suspect that he might have committed suicide by consuming pesticide after his morning walk.
Mahender, who belonged to Karimnagar, was transferred to the Narayankhed depot in May last year on promotion from the Karimnagar 2 depot. The Narayankhed depot is known as a punishment posting for both the staff and the managers. He is reported to have expressed his inability to continue at the depot with his colleagues sometime back.
Mahender was on leave since Sunday, and had handed over his official SIM card to the assistant manager at the depot on Monday night. He had also given his son's phone number to his driver saying that the latter might need to call him sometime.
The authorities informed his family in Karimnagar, and a probe is on into the death.
