Film actor and TDP leader Nandamuri Balakrishna, on Monday, said that YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy's
landing behind bars was because (Jagan) he had committed a mistake.
Talking to media persons after garlanding a statue of his father and TDP founder president N T Rama Rao at Basavatarakam Cancer Research Hospital, to mark his 89th birth anniversary, Balakrishna said that courts must stringently punish those involved in corruption. He said that Jagan, too, should face severe action if he has indulged in corruption.
Stating that all his family members would work for the TDP, Balaiah said that he would participate in the by-election campaign soon.
"Right now, I am busy with my film schedule. Whenever I am free, I will campaign in the by-elections and work for the victory of the party's candidates," he said.
Stating that his father NTR had worked for the welfare of the poor and the middle class, he said, "All our family members will work to fulfill the unaccomplished dreams of NTR".
Speaking on the occasion, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government must distribute the properties of Jagan among the poor. Stating that no one was above law, Naidu said that he would continue his fight against corruption till it is eradicated.
Later, Balakrishna and Chandrababau Naidu distributed fruits among patients at Basavatarakam Cancer Research Hospital.
Earlier, Rajya Sabha member N Harikrishna, Junior NTR and other family members visited NTR Ghat and paid rich tributes to NTR.
Harikrishna said that his family members would make representaitons to instal NTR's statue in the Parliament premises. He also called upon people to vote in favour of the TDP in the by-elections. (INN)
