Staunch supporter of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, stated on Thursday that he was still a part of the Congress party.
Talking to media persons, the Nellore Congress MP alleged that a section of his colleagues had created a rift between him and the Congress President Sonia Gandhi, and made him a scapegoat.
Rajamohan Reddy further alleged that the same section of leaders had earlier targeted former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and forced him to quit the ruling party.
Pointing out that he had not made any adverse statements against the Congress High Command, Rajamohan Reddy stressed that he was a loyal Congress worker.
He also slammed media speculation that he would quit the Congress to join Jaganmohan Reddy’s camp. The MP said, “I have not made any anti-party comments. If I have to, I will quit the party but will not say anything against it while I remain its worker.”
The Nellore MP further criticized Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and his brother Vivekananda Reddy for seeking his resignation. Rajamohan Reddy said that they had no moral right to seek his resignation from the party.
He alleged the Anam brothers had been benefitted through former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, but were now talking against him after he passed away.
