People Oppose Secretariat At Parade Grounds

It appears like the TRS government, which allegedly encouraged the morning walkers and local residents living in the areas near Indira Park to support the shifting of Dharna Chowk from there, will now have to face the same music from the walkers and locals at Secunderabad's Parade Grounds.

It may be recalled that the Telangana government has got permission from the Centre to construct the Secretariat at Parade Grounds with the latter agreeing to an exchange of the Parade Grounds land with alternate plots to be given by the Telangana government.

With the news just becoming public, morning walkers and locals staged a dharna at Parade Grounds today demanding that the state government withdraw its decision to construct its Secretariat on the grounds.

The dharna soon gained political support with the Cantonment Congress leaders lending their heft to the agitating walkers and locals. They also formed a human chain on the occasion protesting the decision of the state government.
