A special CBI court on Tuesday granted interim bail to former Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana to visit Sabarimala.
In his petition filed on December 10, Mopidevi sought the court's permission to visit Sabarimala in Kerela from December 24 to January 2 as he has taken the deeksha of Ayappa Swami. The bail petition was opposed by the CBI. However, the court on Tuesday granted interim bail to Mopidevi for 10 days allowing him to visit Sabarimala.
Mopidevi is presently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail since his arrest by the CBI on May 24 for his alleged role in the VANPIC segment of the disproportionate assets case of YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy. (INN)
