TPCC President and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy today appealed to the voters of Nagarjuna Sagar to support his party's candidates, Ramulu Naik and K Jana Reddy, contesting for the MLC seat in the Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda graduates' constituency and for the MLA seat in the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election, respectively.
Reddy made the appeal while addressing a public meeting at Tripuraram village in Nalgonda.
Addressing the meeting, he alleged that neither the BJP-led Centre nor the TRS-led state government did anything for the people of Telangana, and that the people of the Nagarjuna Sagar constituency were often left ignored as well.
"Neither the BJP-led Centre nor the TRS-led state government work for the people of our state. The people of Nagarjuna Sagar too have been left neglected. It was only under our party's K Jana Reddy that the area saw immense development. During his tenure as MLA, from 2014 to 2018, Jana Reddy devoted himself to the people of Nagarjuna Sagar. After his tenure however, all the earlier development came to a screeching halt. Following their failure to work for the state, the BJP and the TRS have no moral right to seek the people's votes for the upcoming graduates' constituencies' MLC elections or the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election," the TPCC head said.
He also took the opportunity to push the case of the party's candidate for the Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabubnagar MLC elections, G Chinna Reddy, and said that the victory of the Congress candidates would completely change the political situation in Telangana, and would "shock" the TRS and the BJP to fulfil all their "unfulfilled election-time promises".
Besides Jana Reddy and Ramulu Naik, other senior party leaders, including Shankar Naik, Madhavi and K Linga Reddy, also participated in the meeting.
