Telangana Struggle Diluted: Minister

Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy said that the violence on Tank Bund during the Million March will dilute the statehood agitation.
Hyderabad | 13th March 2011
Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy on Sunday expressed hope that the public outcry following the desecration and damage of the statues of eminent Telugu luminaries on the Tank Bund will help future recurrence of violence, and also water down the separate Telangana statehood agitation.

Speaking to media persons after casting his vote for the Legislative Council candidate of his choice at Madakasira in Anantapur district, Raghuveera Reddy said that the violent incidents on the Tank Bund last Thursday during the Million March, which was organized by Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC), has soiled the image of the separate statehood agitation.

He hoped that the pro-Telangana outfits would be forced to rethink on their strategy on the struggle for a separate state.

The Revenue Minister also stated that the government is committed to implement all the welfare schemes envisaged and launched by the former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in letter and spirit.

Raghuveera Reddy added that for the people, Congress and YSR are synonymous with each other.

"The people do not differentiate between Congress and YSR. They believe that YSR belongs to Congress party," the Minister stated.
