Shirisha Was Not Stalked: Police
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Amit Garg has denied the reports that Shirisha, an MBA student, was attacked by a stalker, and that she was injured in an accident.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Amit Garg on Thursday denied reports that appeared in a section of the media that an MBA student, P Shirisha, was attacked by a stalker.
Producing Lokesh, the man who had allegedly stalked and wounded Shirisha, before media persons at a press conference, the Police Commissioner stated that the purported victim Shirisha had not lodged a complaint with the police that she had been attacked by Lokesh.
Garg stated that the police have registered a complaint pertaining to a road accident in this regard.
He further revealed that Lokesh had informed the police that he had no connection with Shirisha, and that the accident had occured after he had lost control over his over-speeding motorcycle.
Amit Garg also revealed that Shirisha's fingers were badly injured due to the accident, and that she was undergoing treatment at NIMS in Hyderabad.
Earlier, on Thursday, television news channels had reported that a stalker had tried to slash Shirisha's throat.
The Commissioner stated that a police team has been deputed to collect preliminary information about the accident from Shirisha. He added that the police will investigate the case based on Shirisha's statement. (INN)
