The Odisha Police claimed that CPM chief G Ramakrishna a.k.a. RK's whereabouts are known and urged him to surrender before the police and avail adequate treatment as the latter received grievous injuries to his legs during the Andhra Pradesh - Orissa Border encounter that took place on October 24, in which 34 Maoists had died.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra said that the Odisha government was willing to provide treatment for RK's injuries and asked the latter to surrender. He claimed that as per police reports, the maoist chief was availing treatment in a medical camp somewhere on Odisha-Andhra border.
It is also learnt that the two AP and Odisha have already announced alerts in all hospitals. The police of the two States are expecting RK to get admitted at any hospital at any moment. If not, RK would avail the required treatment in Odisha. As per reports, the elusive maoist leader is taking transplant medicines for his injuries at the moment.
Mahapatra said that both RK and his son Munna were there on the spot where the encounter took place, but RK escaped narrowly.
