3 "Maoist" Corpses Recovered From AP-Odisha Border

Three dead bodies have been recovered from the Balimela reservoir in the AOB, where a heavy-artillery maoist encounter took place on October 23 - 24.
Hyderabad | 1st November 2016
Three dead bodies have been discovered in the wee hours of Tuesday under the Balimela reservoir bridge in the Andhra Pradesh - Odisha Border zone (AOB) where a heavy-artillery maoist encounter took place on October 23 - 24.

As per the local police officials, some villagers near the reservoir noticed one dead body lying on the shore of the river flowing through the reservoir and informed them. As per preliminary investigation, the cops have concluded that the body is nearly a week old and riddled with shrapnel wounds.

This leads to the suspicion that the corpse, which is nearly decimated due to the water from the reservoir and wounds from bullets, must belong to a maoist slain in the region during the encounter. The body, which could not be ID'd by the police, has been handed over to Forensics for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the locals who were present during the police's investigation have claimed that around 13 persons had gone missing from a Girijan village, a few clicks from the scene of encounter at the AOB.

For those who came in late, the search is on for Maoist bigwig G Ramakrishna, a.k.a. R K, who has been M.I.A. ever since the high voltage encounter in the maoist lair. This comes after the Hyderabad High Court ordered the AP government and Police to produce R K, alive and in one piece, in front of the bench.
