Mangalhat Police Bust Betting Racket
The police seized a total cricket betting amount of Rs. 1,33,200, two cell phones, a portable Sansui television, and some chits from the possession of Udha Ram Singh.
The City Police arrested one person for allegedly accepting bets on the Indo-Pak T-20 match played on Tuesday.
According to the police, on a tip-off, the Mangalhat police raided a premises on Tuesday night at Jungur Basti in Mangalhat, and found the accused Udha Ram Singh alias Udesh accepting cricket betting.
Further enquiries revealed by the police revealed that Udesh and Ravi Narayan alias Laddu were accepting cricket bets over mobile phones. While the police arrested Udesh, Laddu managed to escape from the spot.
The police seized a total cricket betting amount of Rs. 1,33,200, two cell phones, a portable Sansui television, and some chits from the possession of Udha Ram Singh. A case has been booked against both the accused under the AP Gaming Act. Further investigations are on. (INN)
