TPCC Vice-President Mallu Ravi today called on senior CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
The two leaders reportedly held lengthy discussions on the prevailing political and non-political conditions in Telangana.
It is being said that the meeting, however, was not merely held to discuss the state of Telangana but was more an attempt on Ravi's part to mollify Vikramarka who was, like many other senior leaders, left dissatisfied by the Congress high command's decision to appoint party colleague A Revanth Reddy as the new TPCC head.
Perhaps that is why Ravi told the leader that the posts of TPCC chief and CLP leader were both equally important for the success of the party.
After the meeting, the TPCC Vice-President remarked that Vikramarka was his brother and that he had appealed to the latter to "accept the decision" of the party's national president Sonia Gandhi regarding Reddy's appointment.
He also revealed that although the CLP leader had recommended that MLA D Sridhar Babu be given the coveted post, the AICC had favoured Reddy over Babu which had likely left Vikramarka miffed.
Talking about the Congress' future plan of action in the state, Ravi then alleged that Telangana was witnessing the dictatorial rule of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and added that the rank and file of his party would "work together" till they had "unseated" the CM from his post.
It is no secret that many in the Congress are mightily dissatisfied by the party high command's decision regarding the appointment.
Since Vikramarka is one such leader, when he recently made a
sudden visit to the national capital, the trip generated much discussion and has raised many eyebrows within party circles.
