It is no secret that many in the Telangana unit of the Congress, especially a group of senior leaders, are mightily dissatisfied by the party high command's decision to give the post of TPCC head to MP A Revanth Reddy.
According to sources, the high command has had to intervene to placate several leaders who had been vying for the post. While some party leaders have strongly opposed the decision, there are some who have welcomed the decision.
That is perhaps why CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's sudden visit to the national capital has generated much discussion and has raised many eyebrows within party circles.
Congress leaders are eagerly following Vikramarka schedule in Delhi since it is being said that the senior leader will soon meet the national leadership of the party.
The high command has an uphill task ahead of it since various veteran leaders, including
V Hanumantha Rao, have made explicit their displeasure at Revanth Reddy's recent appointment.
Marri Shashidhar Reddy, who was also left unhappy with the new appointment, even tendered his resignation from the post of state Congress Election Coordination Committee chairperson. He had been pushing the case of more senior leaders, demanding that a "party loyalist" be given the post.
