In a mysterious turn of events in the 2016 EAMCET-2 paper-leak scandal, the primary accused in the case died suspiciously of a cardiac arrest while still in custody of the Telangana Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday night.
Reports suggest that the body of the accused was shifted to Osmania General Hospital where it went under the blade for a post-mortem. And as per the Hyderabad Police officials in the CID, the forensic report suggests that the accused died of a massive cardiac arrest after being subjected to long and excruciating hours of investigation.
But a few educationalists, politicians and academicians theorized a foul play. They suspected that due to the high-profile nature of the case with several TRS politicians allegedly involved in the scam, the police might have killed the accused, who was also the primary witness, to cover the leaders' tracks.
The CID, however, denied all allegations and said that he died after prolonged illness during the course of the investigation. They asserted that he was being treated but his condition only got worse.
The accused hailed from Bihar.
