The prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) may shoot into the skies soon.
It has been reported that a 100% hike in LPG cylinder prices may be proposed, in which case a cylinder would cost Rs. 700, as against the present Rs. 342.30. In the case of a hike, the holders of Aadhar smart cards would receive the LPG cyliners at subsidised rates.
The proposal for such a massive hike may be connected to the escalating prices of crude oil, which currently stands at Rs. 4,429 per barrel. The prices of crude oil had dipped for a very short while after Osama bin Laden was declared dead, but the prices are back in the path of increase.
Hyderabadis must be prepared to shell out more on their fuel consumption, as the petrol prices, are set to
increase by Rs. 3 after May 15th.
