110 To Compete In Laser Sailing
2-time Asian Games medallist Rajesh Choudhary, and Alekya Sundaram, who participated in the recently held Women's World Championship in Scotland, will also be seen.

Around 110 sailing enthusiasts will compete at the 25th Laser National Sailing Championship 2010, to be held at the Hussain Sagar Lake from July 23 to July 31, during the 'Hyderabad Sailing Week'.
Talking to media persons, Laser Classic Association of India vice-president Major General P K Gogya pointed out that interest in the sport has grown by leaps and bounds, from the 6 competitors who participated in the inaugural championship in 1986, to 110 this year.
Major Gogya revealed that the event held in Hyderabad is among the selected such events in the country. He added that 2-time Asian Games medallist Rajesh Choudhary, and Alekya Sundaram, who participated in the recently held Women's World Championship in Scotland, will also be seen in action during the event.
The Major revealed that Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy will inaugurate the silver jubilee Championship at the Secunderabad Sailing Club at 11am, while Chief Minister K Rosaiah will distribute the prizes on July 31 in his capacity as the chief guest.
Sports Minister Komtireddy Venkatreddy will be the guest of honour at the closing ceremony, while Laser Classic Association Of India president Lt. General I J Singh will preside over the function.
Secunderabad Sailing Club vice-president Raghuram Reddy said that 7 members of the club will participate in the event. He also said that the Championship is open for participants between 13 and 60 years of age.
