AP Govt. To Give Out 83,000 Acres Among The Poor
Since 2004, the state government has distributed 46.44 lakh acres of land among the poor, claims Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy.

The sixth phase of land distribution will begin from November 3.
Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday, Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy informed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will launch the programme at Puttaparthy of Anantapur district. He said as many as 57,000 beneficiaries would be given 83,000 acres of land in the sixth phase. Besides possession and D-Form Patta, the Title Deed, FMB, Adangal Panchnama and security features would also be transferred to the beneficiaries.
Raghuveera Reddy informed that since 2004, the state government has distributed 46.44 lakh acres of land among the poor. In 2005, 7.17 lakh acres were distributed among 5.10 lakh beneficiaries across the State. He said that the land was being distributed as per the recommendations made by Koneru Ranga Rao Committee in a time-bound manner.
The Minister said that so far, 18,600 acres of land has been distributed among SCs, 19,800 acres among STs, 23,000 acres among BCs, 3,800 acres among minorities and about 8,000 acres of land was distributed among other castes. While 16,000 acres have been distributed in Anantapur, 10,000 acres each were distributed in Nellore and Chittoor districts followed by 5,500 acres in Warangal, 5,000 acres in Kadapa and 4,500 acres in Khammam district.
