Veteran film actor and former Union minister Krishnam Raju, on Wednesday, announced that he would re-join active politics soon.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Mogaltur in West Godavari district, Krishnam Raju said that he decided to join politics after watching the problems of people in the state. He announced that he would contest the general elections in 2014.
When reporters asked him about which party he would contest from in the elections, Krishnam Raju said that he was yet to take a decision on it. He said that he had quit the Bharatiya Janata Party as he was not satisfied with the state-level leadership.
It may be recalled that Krishnam Raju had joined the BJP, and had became a Union minister in the NDA government. Later, he joined the Praja Rajyam Party, formed by actor K Chiranjeevi, and contested from Rajahmundry. However, he was defeated by a Congress candidate. Since then, he has been maintaining a low profile, and also quit the PRP when Chiranjeevi merged the PRP with the Congress. (INN)
